The University has also put together numerous clinics in an attempt to vaccinate and hopefully keep the disease from its students. According to the University nearly 2,000 students have already been vaccinated. They believe if that half of all students were able to be vaccinated than the disease activity could be cut by almost 70% on campus. There is one clinic remaining for the fall 2009 semester and it is after the students return from Thanksgiving break on Wednesday, December 2nd. Students can register for these clinics through their MyUAlbany account. Walk-ins the day of each clinic will also be accepted on a space-available basis.
If you do happen to become sick make sure to rest and drink plenty fluids, like water and Gatorade. Over-the-Counter medications may help to alleviate some of the symptoms. The University discourages you from attending class, as you could spread infection to others. The University recommends that you contact your professors and make arrangements.
