Ever wonder what some of the most popular ways people stay fit without joining the gym? While some prefer to run on a treadmill and lift weights that are too heavy to even look at, many people explored their other options this summer. With the price of gym memberships rising the idea of going for hike (literally) didn't seem like such a bad idea. Exploring the Adirondack Mountains was a form of exercise that many people tried out. It is not only an excellent way to exercise but also an experience to remember.
"The feeling of achievement when you reach the top is such an adrenaline rush, it's amazing," says Deb Hall. "These mountains are right in our backyard, so why not make use of them?"

Jogging and going for a walk came in second and third respectively while golf took the fourth spot. Golf and tennis, which came in seventh place, are sports that any one can enjoy and are relatively cheap and sometimes even free to play. So you see, money is not always necessary when it comes to exercise. Go out and enjoy the air.
