A sign saying vote here hung from a dark church on State Street.
First Presbyterian Church was a place for people in Albany County to come out and vote.
At 8:50 pm there were about 10 people inside the polling place.
The large room seemed empty and it was very quiet. Most people in the room were wearing Barack Obama pins.
The people running the polls were walking around seeing if people needed help. The next ten minutes went on forever it seemed. People were cleaning up the tables and sitting around for the clock to strike 9. Once it did they started to call put numbers. It seemed like chaos everyone was everywhere. Nothing matched up, and everything was being called out so fast. After 30 minutes a cute old man came over and helped by calling the numbers out again. By the look of the number Obama had a clear cut lead. The news was then called, and that was another procedure took about 40 minutes to tell them the numbers of two polls. But all in all, it was an experience for the books; a lot of people will never be able to say they collected votes for the presidential election.
It's something that was interesting and nerve wreaking all in one.
